I purchased this pump so I would have a way to recharge my PCP airgun on the road. It came completely assembled and worked correctly out of the box. It came with extra o- rings, oil and a manual.
I’m a few thousand feet above sea level and for my airgun it takes about 100 full pumps of the handle per 1000psi of charge.
This pump is definitely capable of 4500psi. But those last 800 or so PSI require a LOT of weight on the pump. So smaller lighter folks may have a harder time pumping it past 3500psi or so.
Like all of these pumps, you’ll need to stop and feel the bottom of the tube every couple minutes. If the pump is getting hot, take a break until it cools off. Overheating these hand pumps is the easiest way to blow out the seals.
Bottom line, this is a great pump. Everything on it works great. It is well-built and has much smoother action than the cheap $50 pumps I’ve used in the past. All in all, I highly recommend this hand pump.
I recently purchased this GX hand pump. I have been wanting one for awhile now. I've looked at several models, and really liked the visible incandescent beads. The last thing I want is moisture getting into my guns. And, being able to see it without taking everything apart, was a plus for me.
I have a couple compressors and plan on getting some tanks. However, I still wanted a hand pump for backup. This is the first hand pump that I have used. Everyone always says what a pain hand pumping is, and from what others have said, I would have to disagree when it comes to this pump. I filled my Gauntlet from 2000-3000 psi in about 3 minutes.
Yes, it is manual labor. But, not nearly as difficult as I expected. All in all, I am very impressed with this pump. And, happy to have it in my collection. If you're looking for a hand pump, I would definitely recommend this one!
